Program Description

The Pre–Health Science program is designed for applicants who have completed secondary school or mature students returning to school, who do not have the prerequisite science and mathematics courses to gain entry into a nursing program. Upon successful completion of this program, you’ll be prepared to meet the entrance requirements of a postsecondary health sciences program. Completion of this program does not, however, automatically ensure acceptance into such programs.

Admission Requirements

Program Eligibility

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with:
    • Grade 12 English: ENG4(C) or ENG4(U)
    • Grade 12 Mathematics: (C) or (U)
  • OR Mature Student Status (age 19 or older) with the above prerequisite course(s), their equivalent(s), or appropriate Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Certificate program credits (see Academic Upgrading).

Take the science, mathematics and English courses you need to be eligible for application to the Nursing – Collaborative BScN Degree program with Seneca College/ York University or the Practical Nursing program. Pre–Health students may not meet the admission requirements to other postsecondary institutions. If you wish to further your career at an institution other than Seneca, please check that institution’s admission requirements.

Through transfer agreements and institution partnerships, graduates of this Seneca College program may be eligible for credit at the following post-secondary institution(s):
