Program Description

Green Business Management is intended specifically for individuals who wish to differentiate themselves and gain an employment advantage in an increasingly competitive business environment. The program will develop the skills to define what it means for a company to be “green”.

The program will provide graduates with the transformational leadership skills to help companies become more successful by integrating environmentally and socially responsible strategies into the fabric of their organizations. It will provide graduates the project and change management skills to operationalize environmental sustainability into an organization’s bottom-line, assisting in creating greater value, improved productivity and enhanced corporate responsibility for the organization.

Graduates of the program will develop and implement sustainability action plans, and bridge the language of business and environment, in order to educate, inspire and empower their colleagues on the profit potential of green business.

Admission Requirements

Program Eligibility:

  • A degree or three-year diploma from a recognized college/university and/or mature student with a minimum of five years documented related work experience.
  • English proficiency at the college level.

Applicant Selection:

  • Students must be proficient in the English language, both written and oral. Prospective students may be required to undergo testing to assess literacy skills.

The Green Business Management graduate certificate program at Seneca provides the leadership skills required to help organizations successfully integrate environmentally and socially responsible strategies into their operations. Graduates gain the project and change management skills needed to build environmental sustainability into an organization’s bottomline creating greater value and improving productivity.

The Importance of Learning Skills

Student success in college requires well developed learning skills (such as being able to work independently, participate in a team, be well-organized, develop good work habits, and show initiative). These skills are as important as prior academic achievement. While it is expected that applicants would have developed these skills through previous education and life experiences, Seneca offers support to assist students with further development of these important skills.
