The Importance of Learning Skills:
Student success in college requires well developed learning skills (such as being able to work independently, participate in a team, be well-organized, develop good work habits, and show initiative). These skills are as important as prior academic achievement. While it is expected that applicants would have developed these skills through previous education and life experiences, Seneca offers support to assist students with further development of these important skills.
Toronto is one of the most exciting fashion centres in the world. Earn a diploma in the Fashion Business program and you’ll be prepared for a wide range of rewarding careers in the fashion retail industry. Areas of employment may include: merchandise allocation, import/export, store operations, logistics, merchandising, sales and entrepreneurship.
One of the general education subjects must be a literature subject (from any category) for which EAC150 is a pre-requisite.

Seneca graduate Jennie talks about her program and working in Seneca's on-campus fashion boutique. Video
Seneca's Fashion Resource Centre is a collection of more than 10,000 garments and fashion accessories from the mid-1800s and is used as teaching aids for student in Seneca's fashion programs. Video
“The program offers a great mix of practical and theoretical subjects. Smaller class sizes allowed for a more personal relationship between students and faculty. The professors were industry professionals who used real industry examples in the classroom. They gave us a realistic view of the types of employment we could get after graduation.”

Buyer, George, UK (division of Wal-Mart Inc)
Graduate, Fashion Merchandising/Retail Management Program
“The program itself is realistic; what you learn is the ‘real deal’. The professors bring passion to the classroom which makes you want to try things for yourself. The professors explain things, give deadlines, follow up with you and give you feedback just as an employer would. Their belief in you makes you really believe in yourself and feel that anything is possible if you just go for it.”
