EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECYA) (35 Weeks)

This program is designed for people who have completed an Ontario recognized B.A. Degree or a
degree evaluated for Canadian equivalency and wish to acquire a specialization in Early Childhood
Education. Students will be able to acquire a Diploma in Early Childhood Education within one year.

The program begins with an intensive full-time May/June semester and continues in the fall and winter
with full time early childhood studies. Some evening subjects may be required in order to be eligible
to graduate the following June. Additional fees will be incurred for these subjects.

Early Childhood Education teaches students to design learning environments that promote healthy
development for young children. Students acquire observation skills needed to facilitate a child's
developmental progress, and have the opportunity to apply skills in a variety of field placement
settings, which take into consideration the individual career goals.
