Q. How many courses do I
need to take?

Q. How does the co-op program
work?
HST - There is a
mandatory co-op term for all student (summer before semester 7).
HRM - There is an
optional co-op section. Students are selected on the basis
of their questionnaire responses, resume and grades. A
specific grade level must be maintained to stay in the co-op
program.
BHR - There is an
optional co-op section. Students will be selected on the
basis of:

Successful completion
of all curriculum subjects from semesters 1-3
(including English and general education
subjects)

Successful completion
EAC394 with a minimum grade of “C”
-
Successful completion
of HRA701 with a minimum grade of “B”
-
An overall G.P.A of
3.0 or higher
Q. If I have already
completed a degree or diploma, can I start a program in a higher
semester?
Yes. Depending on the
nature of the program you graduated from and your grades, you
can start a program anywhere from 2nd semester up to 5th
semester. Applicants must inquire with proper
documentation.
For example, a graduate of
the Seneca College 3 year Business Administration - HR diploma
can complete the HST degree in as little as 16 months.

Q. Can I get advanced standing if I already took
a specific course?
Yes. You are required to apply for advanced standing
credits (with transcripts and complete course outlines).
Individual courses requested for advanced standing credit in the
HST program must be at the degree level (university or college).
Q. Does it matter what degree or diploma I graduated with
already?
No. A breadth of knowledge, combined with the focused,
applied HR courses provided in our programs is a key success
factor.
Q. How hard is the amount of work required to succeed?
The programs are designed with rigour and combine the best of
education, a compatible learning environment and socialization.
The amount of work is manageable and Seneca provides resources
to help you succeed.
Q. Will the college help me find employment?
The college has a fully staffed career services office
that provides a wealth of resources to help you find employment.
Our faculty have networks that will help you connect with those
looking to hire graduates.
Q. Will the college help me find a co-op?
Our co-op programs have a dedicated co-op placement
officer who will work with you to find the right placement.
