People are the greatest asset any organization has. Learn how to effectively manage this resource and add value to your organization’s bottom line – become a strategic partner.

This program focuses on business practices and emphasizes the management of Human Resources within the business environment (national and international).

The program provides the student with the opportunity to acquire a general background in business concepts and a specialization in the Human Resources field.

This specialization coves in depth topics such as recruiting, compensation, training, benefits, occupational health and safety, labour relations, leadership, motivational techniques and computer applications relevant to the human resources management field.

The first year provides an overview of business and develops transferable skills necessary to success in the program and a career.

Each subject will have a component dealing with communication skills such as active listening, report writing, presentation skills, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a group. The second and third year provide the Human Resources specialization.

Optional Co-op:

In the third semester, students will have the opportunity to apply for admission to the co-op option. Acceptance will provide the students with the opportunity to secure a paid work-term between academic semesters. The student has a shared responsibility for securing employment opportunities. The co-op option allows the students to combine classroom learning and real life experience.

Suitability for the program is assessed on academic performance, recommendations of faculty, and completion of the application package.

Obtaining a job placement is a competitive process requiring success in an employment interview. Given diverse co-op employment interests, students are strongly encouraged to pursue their own leads in addition to the posted positions.
